But developing and using this technology requires a massive amount of electricity.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How Much Power Does AI Need?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Training and running AI systems requires a lot of computers. These computers constantly work, consuming significant amounts of electricity. According to a study, data centers worldwide consumed as much electricity in 2018 as the entire country of France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Do We Have Enough Power?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a complex question. Some experts believe we don&#8217;t have enough electricity for AI. They argue that continued AI use could lead to power shortages and worsen global warming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, other experts believe advancements in energy efficiency for AI can reduce its power consumption. They also argue that AI can help develop clean energy sources, potentially solving the power shortage issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Situation in India<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">India is also experiencing rapid AI development.
