Tech billionaire and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief Elon Musk has called US Vice President J.D. Vance \u201cour future President,\u201d<\/em> fueling speculation about Vance\u2019s political ambitions.<\/p>\n

Musk\u2019s remarks followed a post on X addressing the tense exchange between Vance and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer over free speech policies during an Oval Office meeting on Thursday.<\/p>\n

As Starmer met with President Donald Trump and administration officials at the White House, Vance defended his stance on digital censorship, echoing comments he made during last month\u2019s Munich Security Conference.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also know there have been infringements on free speech that affect not just the British,\u201d<\/em> Vance said. \u201cOf course, what the British do in their own country is up to them, but it also impacts American technology companies and, by extension, American citizens.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Starmer dismissed Vance\u2019s concerns, insisting that free speech remained firmly protected in the United Kingdom. \u201cWe\u2019ve had free speech for a very, very long time in the United Kingdom, and it will last for a very, very long time,\u201d<\/em> the Labour Party leader said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBest VP ever and our future President,\u201d<\/em> Musk wrote in a post on his social media platform X on Friday.<\/p>\n

Musk has been vocal in his criticism of Starmer and has frequently aligned with Vance on key foreign policy issues, particularly free speech and US aid to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Musk\u2019s endorsement comes as Vance and Trump engaged in a heated exchange with Ukraine\u2019s Vladimir Zelensky at an Oval Office meeting on Friday. Vance, the first to address Zelensky, criticized his recent public appearances highlighting war devastation, accusing him of hosting \u201cpropaganda tours,\u201d<\/em> and labeling the Ukrainian leader \u201cdisrespectful.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The confrontation led to the day\u2019s events being cut short, while Trump reportedly dismissed Zelensky and told him to return when he was \u201cready to pursue peace.\u201d<\/em> Musk later also chimed it, saying the Ukrainian leader had \u201cdestroyed himself in the eyes of the American people\u201d<\/em> in an X post.<\/p>\n
