Don\u2019t worry \u2014 it’s a quick and easy process. And once you’re all set, you’ll be amazed at how these features can transform your day-to-day interactions with your phone. Let’s get started.<\/p>\n

First things first, you’ll need to update your iPhone to iOS 18.1 or later<\/a>. Here’s how:<\/p>\n

Open the Settings app.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tap General.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Select Software Update.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If iOS 18.1 or later is available, tap “Download and Install.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

HOW TO PROTECT YOUR IPHONE & IPAD FROM MALWARE<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Once you’re on iOS 18.1 or later, enabling Apple Intelligence<\/a> is a breeze:<\/p>\n

Go to Settings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tap Apple Intelligence & Siri.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Toggle on Apple Intelligence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your iPhone will then download the necessary AI models. You’ll get a notification when it’s ready to roll. Currently, Apple Intelligence is only available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and newer iPads and Macs with M1 chips or later.<\/p>\n

Now for the fun part. Let’s check out some of the coolest new features:<\/p>\n

You can use Apple Intelligence to summarize messages and mail and get the key details at a glance. Here’s how it works:<\/p>\n

In your mail app, tap an email message<\/strong> or thread.<\/p>\n

Now, tap the summarize button<\/strong> in the top right corner.<\/p>\n

An animation<\/strong> appears as Apple Intelligence analyzes the text, and a summary<\/strong> will appear above the email.<\/p>\n

I<\/u>S IT TIME FOR ME TO UPGRADE TO A NEW IPHONE?<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Siri’s gotten a major upgrade and is now supercharged by Apple Intelligence. When you talk to Siri, you’ll notice an elegant glowing light around the edge of your screen that shows that Apple Intelligence is working for you.<\/p>\n

It now can handle those “umm” moments we all have. For example, try saying, “Hey Siri, set a 10-minute, no, 15-minute timer.” Siri will understand and set the 15-minute timer.<\/p>\n

If you don’t want to ask Siri out loud, you can now type to Siri. Just double-tap<\/strong> at the bottom of the screen, and you can quickly and quietly type your Siri request.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apple Intelligence has your back when it comes to writing. Here’s how to use it:<\/p>\n

Select any text<\/strong> in an email or document by double-tapping on the text<\/strong> and dragging the cursor over the text you want help with.<\/p>\n

Then, the selection handles<\/strong> will appear. Tap the Writing Tools <\/strong>icon that appears above the selected text.<\/p>\n

Choose from options like “Proofread,” “Rewrite,” “Friendly,” “Professional,” “Concise,” “Summary,” “Key Points,” “List” <\/strong>or “Table.”\u00a0<\/strong>Here’s what each does specifically:<\/p>\n

Proofread:<\/strong> Checks for grammar and spelling errors.<\/p>\n

Rewrite:<\/strong> Offers alternative phrasing for the selected text.<\/p>\n

Friendly: <\/strong>Makes the text more casual and approachable.<\/p>\n

Professional: <\/strong>Adjusts the tone to be more formal and polished.<\/p>\n

Concise:<\/strong> Shortens the text to be more direct.<\/p>\n

Summary: <\/strong>Provides a brief overview of the selected text.<\/p>\n

Key Points<\/strong>: Highlights the main ideas.<\/p>\n

List: <\/strong>Converts the text into a list format.<\/p>\n

Table: <\/strong>Organizes the text into a table.<\/p>\n

Once you’ve made your selection, you can either tap Done<\/strong> or Revert<\/strong> to what you had.<\/p>\n

Your photo library just got a lot more searchable:<\/p>\n

Open the Photos app.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tap the search icon <\/strong>at the top of the screen.<\/p>\n

Try natural language queries<\/strong> like “dog sitting on the couch.”<\/p>\n

Click Search, and you’ll be amazed at how accurately it finds your photos.<\/p>\n

Tap Done\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Want to remove unwanted objects from your photos? Here’s how:<\/p>\n

Open a photo in the Photos app.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tap the Edit button <\/strong>below the picture.<\/p>\n

Select the Clean Up<\/strong> tool in the bottom right of the screen.<\/p>\n

Circle<\/strong> or tap<\/strong> the object you want to remove.<\/p>\n

Apple Intelligence will work its magic to erase it<\/strong> seamlessly.<\/p>\n

Then, click either done<\/strong> or cancel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Create custom photo slideshows using natural language prompts. Here’s how to use this feature:<\/p>\n

Open the Photos app.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Scroll down to where it says Memories.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Click where it says Create <\/strong>to Create a Memory Movie.<\/p>\n

WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Enter a text prompt<\/strong> describing the theme or content you want and then tap the up arrow.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apple Intelligence will work its magic to Create a Memory Movie<\/strong> seamlessly.<\/p>\n

Tap the three horizontal dots<\/strong> at the top of the screen to Edit Move Timeline,<\/strong> or you can tap Share Movie<\/strong> to share it via Messages, Mail or Social Media.<\/p>\n

Tired of notification overload? Apple Intelligence now provides smart summaries for your emails and messages. Just swipe down from the top of your screen to see condensed versions of your notifications.<\/p>\n
